METAS Certification required in Switzerland
Manufacturers have to apply for certification according to the Prüfmethodologie, inspection is to be done by independent laboratories.
In accordance with the Electricity Supply Ordinance, from the 1st of January 2020, a new smart metering security scheme will come into force in Switzerland.
Power companies shall procure smart metering devices only which have been examined and certified for data security following the requirements of the above-mentioned security scheme. Manufacturers have to apply for certification according to the Prüfmethodologie, inspection is to be done by independent laboratories.
